Repair Service Terms and Agreement

Last Updated: October 29, 2026

These Repair Service Terms & Agreement ("Terms") apply to repair services provided by SendItFixIt.com / PLW Electronics Repair ("SendItFixIt," "we," "us," or "our").

By purchasing a repair service, submitting a repair request, shipping or otherwise providing a device to us for diagnosis or repair, or authorizing us to proceed with service, you ("Customer") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

1. Mail-In Repair Service

SendItFixIt provides mail-in electronics repair services. Unless otherwise specifically arranged, we do not provide walk-in repair service.

The Customer is responsible for safely packaging and shipping the device to us and for providing accurate information regarding the device, model, reported problem, previous repairs, liquid exposure, modifications, and any other information that may be relevant to diagnosis or repair.

Unless specifically requested, please do not send accessories, cables, controllers, stands, external storage devices, games, or other items that are not necessary for the repair.

We are not responsible for unnecessary accessories or other items included in a shipment unless we specifically requested them.

2. Authorization to Diagnose and Repair

By sending a device to us, the Customer authorizes SendItFixIt to perform reasonable diagnostic and repair procedures necessary to identify and attempt to correct the reported problem.

This authorization may include:

  • Opening and disassembling the device
  • Removing shields, covers, heatsinks, thermal materials, adhesives, and other components
  • Disconnecting or removing components
  • Testing electronic circuits and components
  • Performing board-level diagnostics
  • Microsoldering and soldering
  • Removing and replacing integrated circuits and other board components
  • Reworking solder connections when appropriate
  • Installing replacement components
  • Using donor components or compatible replacement components
  • Reassembling and testing the device

The Customer acknowledges that some diagnostic procedures require components to be removed or altered before the exact cause of a failure can be confirmed.

3. Inherent Risks of Electronics Repair

Electronic repair, particularly board-level and microsoldering repair, involves inherent risks.

A device may contain hidden damage, weakened components, corrosion, electrical faults, manufacturing defects, damage from previous repair attempts, or other conditions that cannot reasonably be identified before repair work begins.

Although we exercise reasonable care and professional repair practices, a device that is partially functional or nonfunctional when received may become completely nonfunctional during diagnosis or a reasonable repair attempt.

Some components may fail when disturbed, heated, removed, tested, or reinstalled because of pre-existing deterioration or damage.

A successful repair cannot be guaranteed.

By submitting a device for service, the Customer accepts these inherent risks and authorizes us to make a reasonable repair attempt.

4. Unsuccessful or Unrepairable Devices

Not every device can be economically or technically repaired.

If we determine that a repair cannot be completed, is not economically practical, requires unavailable parts, or presents conditions that make further repair unreasonable, we may discontinue the repair attempt.

Unless otherwise stated on the applicable service listing or agreed to beforehand, the Customer may be responsible for applicable diagnostic fees, prior-repair-attempt fees, parts used during diagnosis or repair attempts, handling charges, and/or return shipping.

We will communicate substantial additional charges requiring Customer approval before proceeding whenever reasonably practical.

5. Prior Repair Attempts

Devices previously opened, modified, diagnosed, or repaired by the Customer or another repair provider may require substantially more work than an untouched device.

Previous repair attempts may result in missing or damaged components, lifted solder pads, damaged traces, missing hardware, excessive solder or flux, heat damage, torn connectors or flex cables, damaged circuit boards, or other conditions that complicate repair.

If additional work is required because of a previous repair attempt, additional charges may apply.

Where practical, we will notify the Customer before performing work that substantially exceeds the service originally purchased or quoted.

Devices damaged by previous repair attempts may ultimately be determined to be unrepairable.

6. Liquid Damage, Corrosion, Contamination & Infestation

Devices showing evidence of liquid exposure, corrosion, excessive contamination, animal contamination, insects, or infestation may require additional cleaning or service charges and may be refused.

Liquid-damaged devices are particularly unpredictable. Repairing one component damaged by liquid exposure does not eliminate the possibility that corrosion or damage elsewhere in the device may cause future failures.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, liquid-damaged or severely corroded devices are not covered by our standard repair warranty for failures attributable to liquid exposure or corrosion.

Devices containing active insect infestation, biological contamination, urine, feces, or other conditions that present a health or safety concern may be immediately sealed and returned without repair. Cleaning, handling, and return-shipping charges may apply.

7. Modified Devices

We reserve the right to refuse service on devices containing hardware or software modifications that may interfere with diagnosis, repair, testing, safety, or normal operation.

This may include unauthorized hardware modifications, altered circuit boards, modchips, modified firmware, or third-party components that interfere with the requested repair.

For controller services, we may refuse controllers containing third-party modifications or attachments that interfere with disassembly, repair, calibration, or testing.

8. Replacement Parts

Depending upon availability and the repair being performed, replacement parts may be new, aftermarket, OEM-equivalent, refurbished, reclaimed from donor devices, or genuine/OEM components when available.

Because manufacturers do not always make board-level components available directly to independent repair providers, donor or compatible components may sometimes be necessary.

Replacement components will be selected based upon their suitability for the repair.

9. Removed and Replaced Parts

Unless otherwise agreed before repair work begins, defective components removed during a repair may be retained by SendItFixIt for recycling, parts recovery, testing, refurbishment, or disposal.

If the Customer wants a replaced component returned, the request must be made before the repair is performed.

Certain repair prices involving replacement motherboards, circuit boards, or assemblies may be based upon SendItFixIt retaining the original component. In those situations, returning the original component may require a different price or may not be available.

10. Customer Data & System Resets

Customers are responsible for backing up all important data before sending a device for repair whenever possible.

Although we make reasonable efforts to preserve Customer data, electronics repair can result in data loss.

Diagnosis or repair may require factory resetting a device, reinstalling or updating system software, replacing storage devices or motherboards, restoring factory settings, or formatting or erasing storage.

SendItFixIt does not guarantee the preservation of data and is not responsible for loss of games, saved data, accounts, photographs, videos, applications, settings, downloads, or other information stored on a device.

Our repair services are primarily intended to restore hardware functionality and are not data-recovery services unless specifically stated otherwise.

11. Estimates & Additional Problems

A repair price or service purchased through our website generally applies to the problem described in that particular service.

During diagnosis, we may discover additional failures or damage unrelated to the originally reported problem.

If additional repairs or parts are required, we may provide the Customer with an updated estimate or additional repair options.

The Customer is not obligated to approve additional optional repairs. However, the original repair may sometimes be impossible to complete without correcting another related failure.

12. Payment

For repair services advertised as "No Payment Upfront," payment is not required when the device is initially submitted.

After successful completion of the repair, SendItFixIt will issue an invoice or payment request.

Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice unless otherwise stated.

The repaired device will not be returned until all amounts due have been paid.

Other products or repair services may require payment when the order is placed. The payment terms displayed on the applicable product or service page will apply.

13. Unpaid & Abandoned Devices

Customers are responsible for responding to repair communications and paying invoices in a timely manner.

If an invoice, return-shipping charge, or other authorized amount remains unpaid for 30 days after notice, or if the Customer fails to respond to repeated reasonable attempts to arrange return of the device, the device may be considered abandoned to the extent permitted by applicable law.

After any notices or procedures required by applicable law have been satisfied, abandoned property may be recycled, salvaged, used for parts, sold, or otherwise disposed of to recover unpaid repair, diagnostic, storage, parts, and shipping expenses.

Nothing in this section is intended to waive any notice or other requirement imposed by applicable law.

14. Shipping Your Device to SendItFixIt

The Customer is responsible for properly packaging the device for shipment to us.

We strongly recommend using adequate cushioning and a sturdy shipping box appropriate for the weight and value of the device.

The Customer is responsible for the device until tracking shows that the shipment has been delivered to us.

SendItFixIt is not responsible for loss or damage occurring while a Customer's shipment is in transit to us.

Customers should retain their tracking information and shipping receipt.

15. Return Shipping

Where a repair service specifically states that free return shipping is included, standard return shipping is included following successful completion and payment for that repair within the geographic area specified by the service listing.

Free return shipping associated with a completed repair does not necessarily apply to an unsuccessful repair, declined estimate, refused service, abandoned repair, or device returned without repair.

In those situations, the Customer may be responsible for return shipping and handling.

Expedited shipping, special handling, additional insurance, or destinations outside our standard shipping area may result in additional charges.

16. Return Shipping Address

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate return-shipping address.

If the Customer provides an incorrect or incomplete address and the carrier delivers the package according to that information, SendItFixIt is not responsible for loss resulting from the incorrect address.

If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address, the Customer may be responsible for additional postage before the package is shipped again.

17. Shipping Loss or Damage

We make reasonable efforts to package repaired devices securely for return shipment.

Once a package has been transferred to the shipping carrier, carrier loss or damage is subject to the applicable carrier's investigation and claims procedures.

Customers reporting shipping damage should retain the shipping box, all packing materials, the damaged device, and the shipping label.

Photographs or other documentation may be required to process a carrier or insurance claim.

18. 90-Day Limited Repair Warranty

Unless a particular repair listing states otherwise, repair services performed by SendItFixIt include a 90-day limited repair warranty beginning on the date the repaired device is delivered back to the Customer.

The warranty applies only to the specific repair performed and the parts supplied by SendItFixIt for that repair.

For example, repairing an HDMI circuit does not constitute a warranty covering the power supply, disc drive, storage device, USB ports, Wi-Fi system, unrelated motherboard circuits, or any other component not involved in the original repair.

If the repaired issue fails during the warranty period, the Customer must give SendItFixIt a reasonable opportunity to inspect the device and determine whether the failure is covered.

If covered, we will re-perform the applicable repair without an additional repair charge.

Unless otherwise stated, the Customer is responsible for shipping the device back to us for warranty evaluation. If the warranty claim is approved, SendItFixIt will cover standard return shipping to the Customer.

19. Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover failures or damage resulting from:

  • Physical damage, drops, impacts, or crushing
  • Liquid exposure or corrosion
  • Power surges or electrical damage occurring after repair
  • Improper installation or use
  • Misuse or abuse
  • Unauthorized modification
  • Subsequent repair attempts by the Customer or another repair provider
  • New or unrelated failures
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage occurring during shipment to us
  • Insect or animal contamination
  • Use of incompatible or defective accessories
  • Problems unrelated to the repair originally performed

Opening, modifying, or attempting to repair the serviced area after our repair may void warranty coverage.

Some specialized services may carry different warranty terms. When specifically stated on a service listing, those terms supersede the general 90-day warranty for that service.

20. Completed Repair Services & Refunds

Repair services involve labor, diagnostic time, consumable materials, and often components that cannot be returned once installed.

Accordingly, completed repair services are generally non-refundable.

If a covered repair fails during the applicable warranty period, SendItFixIt must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the device and, when appropriate, re-perform the repair.

This provision does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.

21. Devices Sent Without a Repair Order

Customers should not ship devices to SendItFixIt without first creating an appropriate repair order or receiving instructions from us.

If an unsolicited device is received, we may contact the Customer to establish a repair order, refuse service, or require payment of applicable handling and return-shipping charges.

Receipt of an unsolicited device does not obligate SendItFixIt to repair it.

22. Testing After Repair

We may perform reasonable functional testing following a repair.

Testing is intended to verify the repaired function and does not constitute a comprehensive certification that every function or component of the device is working properly.

Unless specifically included in the purchased service, SendItFixIt is not responsible for diagnosing unrelated problems discovered after the device is returned.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SendItFixIt's liability arising from a repair service will be limited to the amount paid by the Customer for the applicable repair service.

SendItFixIt will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from device failure, loss of use, lost data, lost gaming time, lost profits, or similar losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

24. Website Information & Errors

We make reasonable efforts to keep repair descriptions, compatibility information, prices, and other website information accurate.

We reserve the right to correct typographical errors, incorrect pricing, compatibility errors, or other inadvertent website mistakes.

If an error materially affects an existing repair order, we will notify the Customer before proceeding whenever reasonably practical.

25. Communications

By submitting a repair order, the Customer authorizes SendItFixIt to contact them regarding their repair using the email address, telephone number, text-message information, or other contact information supplied with the order.

Customers are responsible for monitoring those communications while their device is in our possession.

26. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service

SendItFixIt reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a repair when we reasonably determine that the device presents a safety or contamination hazard, repair is technically impractical, necessary parts are unavailable, the device has excessive previous-repair damage, continuing the repair could cause unreasonable additional damage, or the requested service is outside our capabilities.

We may also refuse service where the condition of the device was materially misrepresented or in cases involving fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, or abusive conduct.

Applicable diagnostic, parts, handling, and return-shipping charges may still apply.

27. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable federal law controls.

Any rights that a consumer cannot waive under applicable federal, state, or local law remain unaffected by these Terms.

28. Changes to These Terms

SendItFixIt may update these Terms from time to time.

The Terms applicable to a repair will generally be those in effect when the Customer submits the repair order or sends the device for service, as applicable.

29. Customer Agreement

BY PLACING A REPAIR ORDER, SUBMITTING A REPAIR REQUEST, OR SHIPPING A DEVICE TO SENDITFIXIT, THE CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THEY HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREED TO THESE REPAIR SERVICE TERMS.

The Customer further confirms that they are the owner of the device or have authorization from the owner to submit the device for repair.
